APPROACHABLE AFFORDABLE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL
APPROACHABLE AFFORDABLE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL
It all began back on 27 March 1995, when petrol was 54 pence a litre, mobile phones were the size of a house brick, and a "Zoom” was still just the sound a child made when pushing a toy car across the carpet.
But in the heart of Flintshire, a group of big-hearted volunteers got together to launch The Estuary Voluntary Car Scheme, a small, not for profit charity with the big ambition, to help people who needed transport, but had no easy way to get it.
Not only is the service still going strong, it's thriving—with a new name, Estuary Community Transport, and a mission that’s as relevant now as it was 30 years ago.
The only thing that hasn’t changed? The sheer determination to go the extra mile, sometimes quite literally, for the people of Flintshire.
While the wheels keep turning, it's the volunteers who keep the engine running. And there’s always room for more in the team.
Whether you're a confident driver with a sat-nav and a smile, or someone who’s better suited to organising things behind the scenes, Estuary would love to hear from you.
You don’t need superhero powers—just a bit of time, compassion, and the ability to operate a kettle (tea is vital to operations).
If you, or someone you know, find getting around a bit of a challenge, Estuary Community Transport is here to help. Whether it's a regular hospital appointment, a trip to the pharmacy, or simply the chance to stay connected, we’re just a phone call or an email away.
We pickup within 5 miles of our office in Greenfield and charge 70p per mile with a minimum fare of £6
